Today is Halloween, so Happy Halloween!  I made this card using a Graphic 45 tag. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with these tags, but these guys just looked like a Halloween card in the making. I used brads to fill the pre-punched holes in the tag, then mounted it onto a piece of green paper that was made with a Nestabilitie.  The yellow paper is punched with a Martha Stewart pumpkin edge puncher. It is popped up and mounted on a piece of striped paper. Then all glued down to a piece of orange card stock for the card. The tape trims are both Martha Stewart Halloween tapes.

This card was also designed by my BFF, Gina. We stamped and embossed the mummy and then cut it out. It is placed on a piece of paper that was embossed with a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder, then distressed.  The background of this card is what this card is all about though. It is done with a can of sweetened condensed milk. We learned this technique at a class that we took at Impress.  You paint the milk on the paper and then heat it up with a heat gun. It gets the brown coloring from the sugar in the milk burning. It smells like you are making cotton candy during this process. Then when  you are done, you use chalks to add different coloring. I added green and purple.  A piece of gold tape was applied across the bottom of the card.

My two BFF's and I get together each month to do cards. Last month we went to my BFF, Gina's house. She did the design on this card.  It is done with a Memory Box Dracula penguin, stamped and embossed in black. The branch is a flourish stamp that is stamped and embossed. The spiders are peel and stick bling and the hanging web lines are drawn on  This was done a a decorative piece of paper and then attached to card stock..

Today for my card, it is a simple orange card stock with a white card stock stamped with the Stampin"Up family boy and girl stamps and a pumpkin head for the boy. It is backed with a black piece of paper and then another white one. The ribbon is wrapped around the black paper and tied into a simple knot.  Happy Halloween stamped on the orange card stock.

My husband came home yesterday with a bag of Halloween goodies in it. He works with my BFF, so we use him as our delivery man. I love candy, but I cannot eat it, because I am hypoglycemic. It is OK for a short time, then I crash, much like a diabetic.  So, I stay away from all goodies. However, my BFF was very kind and gave me a bag of Russel Stovers sugar free candy. YUM! CHOCOLATE! You never know how much you miss chocolate until you CAN'T have it.  So, I had a piece. She also made the bag for me, decorating the outside of the bag with Halloween papers and bag inside with lots of little Halloween trinkets.  Of course there was a card in the bag too.  So, I thought I would display her work today.  The background of the card is done with a stamp and embossed.  The hat and words are a sticker.  The hat is really cool though.

Last week my BFF and I got together and did a Tim Holtz Configuration box using Graphic 45 Circus paper. Then on Sunday we took a class to make a Halloween one. Well we came home and had to "improve" it, as we like to say. The 3 top boxes were supposed to be turned backwards and a piece of paper stamped with crows went across it. So I cut out all of the crows and perched them on the edge of the top instead. However, we thought those were 3 lost boxes for trinkets, so we turned them over and added paper and trinkets. We also added Tim Holtz Halloween tape around the edges.  There are different little trinkets that came out of my Halloween box, such as Martha Stewart items and Recollections. Halloween twine was used to wrap around the thread spool. Stickles were used to glitz up the skull. The bottles have a small label on them that says witch hazel. The bat in the top left is hanging, as well as the ghost in the bottom left. Halloween paper was torn and added to the sides of the lid for the box.  We opted not to use the piece of plastic that comes with the box, so that it didn't close it up.  The edges of the box are distressed with Tim Hotz distressing ink.  The same is done on the sides and the back. Tim Hotz feet were put on the bottom to finish it off.

This is what is on the back:

The other day I called up my BFF and asked her if she wanted to go shopping. Well of course she did. LOL We had a plan to go to the Hobby lobby. I had not been to this store in quite a few years, since it is not close by.  It's about 45  minutes to an hour away, but of course we were going on a a Friday, after work, and it was raining like crazy. I even printed out 40% off coupons for each of us and we left for our big craft store shopping trip. However, when we got to the store, it was closed. Not just closed due to hours, but not there anymore closed! Wow were we disappointed. Well I knew of another store in the same town, although on the opposite side of town, so we decided to not be defeated and drove to that store - Artco. We were in heaven!  We shopped till we dropped. I think we were there for at least 3 hours!  We had a great time finding all kinds of things to add to our stash.  One thing that I found was this Mouse House October stamp of the month stamp that I used today for my card.

My project for today is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. The card is made from orange textured card stock. A piece of K&Comapnay  paper was cut and added to the front. I added a bat trim from the same package of K&Company Halloween paper. I stamped the House Mouse stamp in black and embossed it. I used Copics to color it.   I used Stampin' Up pens to color the sentiment on the insde.  I used white cardstock, rounded the corners, then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz lilac distressing ink for both the image and the sentiment. Then I put it on a piece of purple cardstock behind both.  I specifically bought these two stamps, so that I could make this card for my other BFF, who has a collection of Mouse House stamps. I know she will love it and appreciate it.

Today I was at my favorite stamp store, Impress Rubber Stamps, in Tukwila WA. I found this cute Halloween stamp and knew it had to become part of my collection, even though I don't need one more Halloween stamp. LOL

My project for today is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. The card is made from orange textured card stock. A piece of K&Comapnay Swirly green paper was cut smaller and adde to the front. A witch flying in front of a moon was fussy cut from a piece of K&Company Halloween paper. The witches stamp is from American Art Stamps. I stamped it in black and embossedit. I stamped the sentiment part again, also embossing it. This allowed me to use copics without worry of bleeding, plus made the ink stand out more and not get washed out.  I colored the sentiment with copics and popped it up with pop dots. I used copics on the witches and tree. The moon is colored with bright yellow stickles. I used my Zutter to diestress the edges. I love that tool in my craft room. I could easily use a different tool, but you just put the eddge of the paper in, pull it through and it's done. It's so fast, a little noisy, but very effective. I then diestressed the edges of the white paper with Tim Hotz Distressing Ink - Rusty Hinges and decided to rub it all over the paper to take away the brightness of the white.

All Things Tim Burton Blog Hop

Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange?  If you're a Tim Burton fan, you will recognize that line from "This is Halloween" -- a well-known song from the movie  "The Nightmare Before Christmas".  With Halloween just around the corner, this is the perfect time to celebrate all things Tim Burton!  We have a talented group of ladies on this weekend blog hop.  Join us as we each share a project inspired by one of Tim's quirky characters!

If you've just come from Dena's blog, you are right where you should be !  If you haven't but would like to start from the beginning, go to Dena's blog to start at the beginning.  We would like to thank Karber Digital Images for sponsoring this blog hop.  Karber is giving away some blog candy to one lucky poster on this blog hop.  To be eligible, you must post a comment on each of the blogs in this hop sometime during the weekend of Oct. 22-23.

*** To be eligible to win, you must comment on each blog in the hop.
*** You must become a follower of each blog.

*** The winner will be announced no later than Wednesday, October 26th.

Now, on to the project I would like to share with you. I made a card of the Queen from the Tim Burton "Alice In Wonderland" movie played by Helena Bonham Carter . I loved that movie. She was a great Queen of Hearts. This card is a long card that fits in a standard long envelope. I made it using a digi stamp that I bought from Fresh Brewed Stamps. They have other AIW stamps too that I purchased.  I love the line. I used copics to color her, but used gel pens for the flowers on the inside of her dress. I added heart bling to her dress, some pearl bling for her earrings and necklace with a heart bling in the middle, and then when I went tot he stamp convention in May, I bought the crown sticker. I think there were maybe 9-12 on the sheet. I new what I wanted to use it for and it is the perfect size for her head.  I used a piece of Christmas paper at the top, where I just cut a strip, some heart ribbon down the side, and striped black and white paper behind her, all mounted on red cardstock. I added a gold trim for a bow on the side and cut her shoes from some shinny gold paper that I had.

Please be sure to hop on over to Lynne's blog next for more Tim Burton fun!  If you get lost along the way, the complete blog hop lineup is below.  Thanks for stopping by !

My project for today is a 6x6 card that I made last year.I actually made quite a few of these and I wasgoing tosendthem out, that's why it is signed by me. However, time got away from me and I didn't getthem mailed in time, soI suppose they will never actually go bad, soI still have them.I love this card though. I actually stampedthe tree form and embossed it with a broze emossing powder. Then I cut it out. I stamped the ornaments, also embossed, and punched them out in 1/2" circles. I added orange ribbon and some flower soft. The ribbon was out of my stash. The bat on the top of the tree is bling that came on a card in this shape.  The background paper was out of a Halloween stack from Recolections (Michael's brand).

On the inside of the card I used a MS ghost punch for the corners on a piece of card stock, stamped it and put it on another piece of paper from the same Halloween stack.

My project for today is a Simple Halloween card that I took out of my box of cards from last year, because the day was busy and I didn't have time to make a new one.  The card was made with a Sizzix die envelope. A stamped card is inside of envelope. Sorry, it's been too long to remember the papers used.

My project for today is a Halloween card that I made for my BFF. It is a small 4 1/4 x5 1/2 card. The branch stamp is an Impress stamp. The Happy Halloween came out of the $ bin at Micheal's. I stamped both with black ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The owl and witches hat are foam, from a couple of packs of Halloween packs that I had in my stash. I just loved the owl. It came as orange with the bandit look on it from the black ink. I cut the eyes from a page of Cloud 9 Design paper that was just these eyes, the perfect size. Then I added bright green stickles around the edge and black stickles in the eye.  The web is a foam sticker that I bought. I put a piece of black and white twine on for the spider's silk. The spider is a brad with diamond bling in the center. I used K&Company Smash black and white dot tape along the top.

I decided I needed to do the inside too. So I used a Lacey Oval  Spellbinder's Nestabilitie Set #S4-314 for the black oval, which is the 2nd one. Then I used the next smaller one, which is the 3rd one, with the same green card stock as the card, to make the top oval. The sentiment is a Northwood Rubber Stamp, which I just bought yesterday on clearance for 1/2 off at Ben Franklin. I love that store!

Your next stop is AMY  Have a great day and please stop back tomorrow for another great project.
